Completed MBBS from S.M.S.
Medical College Jaipur in 1996,
his journey into field of
ophthalmology began when he
joined M&J Institute of
Ophthalmology Ahmadabad, for his
post graduate training. He Post
Graduated in 1998 from Gujarat
University. The desire to excel
and to enrich with latest
surgical expertise made him move
to most southern part of India,
where he completed his two years
of Senior Residency at renowned
Aravind Eye Hospital Madurai
(1998-2000) during the same
tenure he successfully
submitted his thesis on “Limbal
Stem cells in cases of Ocular
Burns “and was awarded the
Diplomate of National Board in
Ophthalmology by the National
Board Of Examinations, New
Delhi.
His interest in
ocular surface disorders earned
him prestigious Long term
Surgical Fellowship in Cornea &
Anterior Segment diseases at
Aravind Eye Hospital Madurai,
India (2001-2002). His lust for
knowledge made him pass both
Basic & Clinical skill
evaluation conducted by
International Council of
Ophthalmology (ICO). He was also
conferred the reputed FRCS in
Ophthalmology (Fellowship
of the Royal College of
Physicians and Surgeons,
Glasgow)
in 2002.
He went on to be

On his return he
joined
Retina Foundation and Cornea Services was formally
started in May 03 along with Aso
Palav Eye Bank.
Many
years of experience at Retina
Foundation & Eye Research
Center, Ahmedabad, India, a
tertiary referral centre for eye
problems has further made him
adapt at handling complicated
cases of corneal surgery.
He has to his
credit more than 1200 corneal
transplants done over past 5
years . He routinely performs
lamellar grafts (DSEK & DALK)
and was the first one to conduct
such surgery in western India. His belief into noble
cause of Eye donation made him
instrumental in establishing
five eye banks in Gujarat &
Rajasthan.
